SPRINT/ CANCEL SPRINT/ CANCEL

Postby CHUCKINPARTS » Tue Mar 07, 2017 4:30 pm

I needed some flywheel bolts for a 2013 Spark. They were ordered on 3/1 and a SPAC case was put in. Later on 3/1 a dealer in Oregon said yes and we were waiting for confirmation. On the afternoon of 3/2 this dealer cancelled their shipment. We started all over again early on 3/3 with two searches and me calling to escalate. At 11.49am (his time) the SAME dealer in Oregon answers the SPAC case and confirms it… SPAC case closed….. WTH….. Okay maybe he couldn’t find them and now he did. There should have been time to ship on 3/3 but on Saturday it only showed that a label was created. Well I guess I won’t see them till Tuesday now. You guessed it……… 3/7 it still only shows label created and they still have not shipped! I called the dealer to see whats up. The manager only handles SPAC case and he doesn’t get in till 9:30. I tell them to keep the bolts because the car has to go today. I also asked the counter guys to tell their manager to stay the hell away from SPAC cases because he had me tied up for a friggin week.
I called GM to tell them I was filing a shortage claim and I thought that GM might want to call this dealer. I did this so it would be in my SR number in case anything pops up. The SPAC agent said I could not file a complaint against dealer and GM would not call him because I already called him and told him not to send the parts. WHATEVER …. that seems to be a lame excuse but it is what it is. I just want to know when GM is going to start cracking down on this stuff. We have all seen these dealers just answer yes in OE connection only to later cancel it. I have seen certain dealers names over and over again. This slows the process down and it has got to stop.
I thought later that Maybe GM didn’t send him shipping docs but that still doesn’t get this guy off the hook. If he answers yes to a SPAC case and has no label after 3 days I think he should have called GM.
What the hell is this , doesn’t get in till 9:30………………….

I'm with you on this. I have only had to cancel one and before I did I called the dealer to let him know what happened. I get more of the "the shipping guy forgot" 2 days after accepting the sprint just pisses me off to no end.

I am getting tired of this too. If you are going to accept the request you have to ship that day or following business day at the latest period.
I got into it with the last one that wasn't shipped until 4 business days after the request was accepted.
The guy is trying to blame it on shipping department, blah blah blah. Then tells me he does $125K-150K in SPAC shipments a year and hangs up.
If all of the other transactions take 4-5 days to complete something needs to be done.
We deal with enough incompetence in our own 4 walls no reason to deal with it on a SPAC shipment. :x

Perhaps it's because I've become extremely bitter and jaded with GM Parts and everything they've done after all these years, but you
guys and gals can complain all you want. Call your rep, call SPAC, call Mary Barra, hell, even call your congressman.
NOTHING will change with GM. Unless it is something to "Enhance Shareholder Value". For proof of
that, all one has to do is read email Reference Number: GCUS-6-349, Important Opel Announcement.
"This is a major milestone, one that we believe will improve the business prospects of each company and deliver significant value to shareholders, customers and employees around the world." That's the second sentence from that announcement. SHAREHOLDERS are first, then customers. And the customers that they're mentioning are RETAIL customers, not dealers. Customer have a choice with whom to do business with. We DO NOT. We are just one of the tools that GM uses to accomplish the goal of creating "significant value to shareholders".

GM is running out of companies to write their losses off to. With Opel now gone, at some point they'll have to start paying for their own mistakes

just had a new one have a SPAC case that has been sent out twice, no answers, I called one of the dealers that shows 3 of the part. He told me he would sell me one at normal wholesale but won't do a sprint. In his words "why should I give it away, If you need it buy it". Told him he could keep his 3 parts and choke on them

I really hate to say this, but I have to agree with him. At one time GM paid trade to the Sprinting dealer. For what they pay now, it's just NOT
worth the time and effort to participate in the program.

I don't get it..... These big wholesalers will sell parts to anyone for damn near cost or at very slim margins and put it on one of their10 delivery trucks. When comes to selling it to another dealer in dire need to fix a customers vehicle and GM pays the freight...........its not worth it? I agree keep the SOB parts.

Well it is 15% over cost. I am able to sometimes get rid of something I don't need without dipping into my reserve.

What I hate is that you get a number of requests to fill a Sprint and they are all the same dealer (Big Store)like Weber C______. You fill one and then you need one in a couple days and then you spac it and receive the same one you sprinted out from the same dealer. WTF
