1234yf freon PLEASE help

Postby cain555 » Wed Oct 24, 2018 9:50 pm

The mathematics on this is just dumb. One tank is 4.5 kg. Thats 4,500 grams in one tank at $675 dealer cost per tank. This equals .15 per gram cost. GM wants us to charge out quantity 1=10 grams. My tech uses 1.1 kgs but was able to recover .09 kgs. This means he used 1.01 kgs of NEW freon part#12356150), which is 1,010 grams. Divide that by 10 (since GM wants quantity 1 to equal 10) and we charge out 101 at $1.50 a unit. Rounding it down for GM, we charge out 100 at $1.50 per unit and sell it at $2.10 per unit (GM said the 40% markup was good to do). Warranty rejects.

What am I missing?

If that's the part number you used then that's why its rejecting.12356150 is R134a. Part number 19260234 is R1234YF with a cost of 1.50 and qty of 101 should be what you need to do.

What is the exact reason of the reject?

I submit the warranty for our dealership, there is always a specific reason.

IF YOU USE 1.1 YOU SHOULD CHARGE 11 UNITS OF PART NUMBER 19260234B WHEN YOU SETUP THE PART NUMBER WITH A B AT THE END . I ALWAYS CHARGE THE MAX. FORGET ABOUT THE RECOVERY.

SO IN SHORT 1.1 IS 11, AND 4.5 IS 45 THAT EASY. NEVER WAS REJECTED. I ALSO CHARGE $5. RETAIL PRICE FOR INSURANCE OR CUSTOMER . NO REJECTIONS YET EITHER

thanks for the answers everyone. It was what nelsong said in case anyone runs into this. Qty 100 or more of 19260234 will kick back the claim no matter what. Anything beyond that has to go on a separate line item.
