The mathematics on this is just dumb. One tank is 4.5 kg. Thats 4,500 grams in one tank at $675 dealer cost per tank. This equals .15 per gram cost. GM wants us to charge out quantity 1=10 grams. My tech uses 1.1 kgs but was able to recover .09 kgs. This means he used 1.01 kgs of NEW freon part#12356150), which is 1,010 grams. Divide that by 10 (since GM wants quantity 1 to equal 10) and we charge out 101 at $1.50 a unit. Rounding it down for GM, we charge out 100 at $1.50 per unit and sell it at $2.10 per unit (GM said the 40% markup was good to do). Warranty rejects.
What am I missing?
