This has been asked a few times before. Do a search and you will see a variety of answers. My experience with Dealertrack Arkona was 8 years ago. The dealer I was at switched from R&R to Arkona. Switching DMS's is a nightmare anyway, at least a month of banging your head on a desk. I spoke negatively about Arkona and people here said they've improved. Best of Luck to you.

I was on it at a Chrysler store about 3 years ago... Was on it for 2 1/2 years and it was the worst!!!! Made me want to start drinking again. During the switch we lost sales history of part#'s and customer sales history. Training staff was horrendous to say the least. Technical support was lacking. And God help you if their servers go down. In parts we called it DealerCrap, I said it right to the GM's face too.... Owners liked it cause it was CHEAP!!! Dealer Trash? Horrible. The people who first showed up to train us all got fired because of their egregious incompetence. Also our gross profit numbers took a nose dive as soon as we changed from Reynolds to this abortion of a DMS.

We just made the switch on April 1. We had been on Reynolds for 20+ years. We were scheduled to have 22 trainers on the ground. However, the pandemic forced them into virtual training which was/is woeful.
Dealertrack is a front end based system...fixed ops is limited. Even had their lead trainer admit that to me this week. Their reporting is awful. My guys are paid off of weekly gross sales. As of now, they cannot make
a report that can calculate the data. Special order tracking is a joke. So, tired of hearing what Dealertrack cannot do. They processes are highly inefficient...three steps back to take one step forward.

As a group we are saving approx, 2.4k/month per store with Dealertrack. Sadly, is costing us more in productivity. Good luck. You will hate it.

Sadly, I have to agree 110% with hating it. I have worked on CDK, R&R, Karmak Fusion, Dominion DMS and now Dealertrak. Dealertrak is the absolute worst DMS I have ever used! The reporting is very limited and as a manager who likes to analyze his data, this is the
worst DMS I have ever used. Parts special orders are a nightmare to track and follow. Parts pricing does not automatically follow the pay type on RO's as far as customer pay, warranty pay, internal work so when a counterman bills out a part on a RO line he cannot know that the correct pricing levels will be applied. The support helpline is awful and many times the support personal cannot answer your questions to your satisfaction. They will refer to you reading articles in DMS360 which sometimes are helpful but during the workday when a manager is busy, who has time to read articles?

Anyways, that is just my 2 cents. I wish you better success than my store has experienced.

If anyone on this forum has a good working knowledge of this DMS, I would greatly appreciate them reaching out to me to answer some of my questions.

Not necessarily bad. Just make sure you have and agreement in writing that outlines service, both phone and on-site training. Make sure they pick up the last 12 months of sales history, BY MONTH, for every part number in your system.
