Hello Friends,
Any ideas on how successful dealerships deal with aftermarket service contract companies providing their own parts?

"We will install parts provided with an additional handling fee of (insert lost profit estimate) dollars; as well as zero guarantees for (possibly inflated) labor!"

What is the best contact at Car Shield to inform them that from now on its going to be a handling fee added to the repair order. How do you come up with the $ amount charged?
For an Engine that you would normally make a gross profit of $500 for example when they want to ship their own engine ?

this is not "Bring your own parts repair" Retail for the contracts . we do not give the part numbers out so they can find it cheaper on the internet. Customer pays the difference if the company doesn't want to pay MSRP. Once in a while we discount 10%. but you have to come crawling on your hands and knees.

I'm curious as well. We've been having a horrible time with Smart Auto Care and I am getting tired of dealing with them.
Going to tell my staff to stop providing part numbers on the quotes and see how it goes.

THEY SAY THEY NEED A PART NUMBER? GIVE THEM ONE. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE CORRECT? FORD AND CHRYSLER PART NUMBERS ARE BIGGER THAN GM PART NUMBERS.
SOMETIMES I GIVE THEM HALF THE NUMBER AND TELL THEM THATS ALL THE DEALER GAVE ME.
